Our first born - new puppy. German shorthaired pointer.

Currently Cleo is 1 week old as of 22/04/14 and we will bringing her home mid June.  We have fallen in love with the German Shorthaired Pointer breed for all their characteristics such as needing a lot of stimulation and exercise as well as love having a cuddle on the sofa in the evenings.  We have already bought most of the things we will need as well as a few things for a few more months down the line.  We will be making another trip back to our local Pets at home for puppy food and some other bits and bobs soon.  Here are some of the things we loved:-).

Pictures of her will be up soon as we will be visiting her along with the mum and dad again this weekend. Obviously we are both very excited for every part of the next 12-15 years with our baby even the sleepless nights that will be for the first month or so!!  And who knows in a few years she may have a new puppy friend hehe:-).

Easter things 2014.

We haven't really celebrated Easter this year in regards to traditions or food but I did decide to put a few bits and pieces round the house for the atmosphere.  I have got my bunny slippers on though:-).  I will be making 3 different flavoured cupcakes later on this weekend which I suppose could be for Easter although in fact will be for my his mums birthday.  Recipe and pictures will follow on Tuesday.

Nails of the week #2 - Nails Inc London Hampstead Gardens

A gorgeous quite bright mustard colour that I applied two coats of to achieve this look.  I know this colour would usually be associated with Autumn/Fall but I don't really believe in wearing certain colours at certain times.  The Polish is thick, easy to apply, pigmented and lasts me a decent amount of time.  I have recently posted another Nails Inc look so check that out if you like their products.

Nail of the week #1 - Nails Inc London Cumberland Street nail polish

A gorgeous sky blue colour perfect for this lovely spring weather we have had this weekend.  I used two coats with a Collection 2000 base coat.  After photographing my nails I actually applied a mattifying top coat from Rimmel London.

We've moved!

Well technically we have even if it is only 1.5 miles down the road!  However even with the short distance from the local small town it feels like you are in the middle of complete nowhere!  Totally surrounded by gorgeous Wiltshire countryside we are in a place we feel is home.  A place where we can take the next steps in our lives together - getting married and having children.

Just thought I should update you guys as I know I may have seemed to just disappear.  However now I am moved and over 50% settled I can start putting up regular posts again.

What would you think to me starting a YouTube channel with a similar theme?

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish Review - Empties

300ml RRP £7.50
This product is from Soap & Glory's Original Pink Fragrance line and the ingredients include Shea butter, sweet almond oil, peach seed powder, sea salt and sugar.

Apply this product on to damp skin, massage in until all the beads have disappeared and then rinse.  It is a medium to high harshness of scrub with it feeling slightly oily on the skin whilst being rubbed in.  It rinses of easily and leaves skin feeling very clean.  After you have dried off, the skin feels a lot smoother and soft to the touch even before moisturiser has been applied.

I do find that you need a decent amount and therefore the pot is used up quicker than with other scrubs that have a thinner consistency for example.  I use this product a few times a week and I use along side the Righteous Butter which has the same scent.  I have seen results as it has helped with dry skin in the winter and my eczema patch.

Because of this I would fully recommend this product to everyone!

Xpel Argan Oil Shampoo with Moroccan argan oil extract - empties

So I bought this shampoo because I wanted to try out some alternative to the quite pricey Argan Oil hair products.  I found this in Bodycare for about £1.99 and I believe that other stores that sell this are places like Savers and various Pound shops.

It claims to nourish and moisturise leaving your hair shiny, smooth and healthy and is designed to be used on all hair types.  It does leave my hair soft and easy to manage but then again, the majority of shampoos I have used have done the same.  I don't find it dries or weakens my hair and I have not found that is has given me any irritation.  I did like to use Head & Shoulders shampoo and I have noticed that over the past month of using the Argan Oil shampoo that I have had a slight issue with dandruff on second day hair.  I am not sure whether it is this shampoo that has caused it or whether my scalp had gotten used to and agrees the most with Head & Shoulders - like its having withdrawal symptoms or something!  The product lathers very well and I don't need a ton to cover all my hair so it doesn't use up extra fast.  It is a thick creamy consistency and has a lovely medium to strong fragrant soapy kind of smell.

However on the ingredients list Argan Oil is only listed at number 9 with two Sulfates at number 2 and number 4.  When I purchased I was silly and didn't read this - if I did then I probably wouldn't have even tried it.  This strikes me as a shampoo that hasn't had much love put into it in regards to the ingredients and isn't as natural as the packaging makes out.  But I guess that is what you get from not buying the true Argan/Moroccan Oil shampoo.  The whole range is actually made in China by Xpel Marketing who aren't who I would call "experts" in haircare.  They also have a heat protectant, conditioner, hair mask and hair treatment within the range.  I also purchased the hair mask and conditioner.

In conclusion, I wouldn't repurchase this and I don't think that I would recommend this purely on the ingredients list.  If that sort of thing doesn't bother you then I would say yes, buy this shampoo, it does a good job especially for the price - it just isn't a proper Argan Oil shampoo in my opinion.  I am still debating on whether or not to use up the mask and conditioner or to stop using them altogether.  Although as I am writing this blog post I am thinking that I will probably stop using these now and start trying out the new hair products that I have waiting to be used.

Have you seen this range?  what are your thoughts on it?

My everyday eye - quick look

Lately this is the eye look that I have been leaning towards doing.  Not only is this really simple to do but it goes well with my greeny brown eyes.  All the shadows I used are by Estée LauderCollection gel liner and mascara by Revlon.  I probably added some NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk to my inner tear ducts to make my eyes appear a lot brighter and wider than they are.

I was thinking about doing a step by step picture tutorial on this - what do you think?  Would you like to see this in more detail?  Or would you like to see a picture list of the exact products I used?

Let me know!

Weymouth and Portland weekend away.

So if you read my last post you will know that I had planned a short weekend away to Weymouth for me and my other half.  If not, you can read that here.

So we drove down Saturday lunchtime and went straight into town and checked out the shops.  We had a dinner reservation at The Dining Room for 7pm so had to nip back to our B&B to get tarted up!  I was very pleased with this B&Bs location as it was only a 10 minute walk to the sea front.  We both ordered a steak and a glass of wine for dinner and our food was of excellent taste and would fully recommend this restaurant.  The whole meal cost me around £52.  We were very tired on Saturday night as we were also house viewing before we left Wiltshire in the morning so turned in for an early night.

Sunday we went back in to Weymouth and walked along the harbor, sat by Fort Nothe and of course had fish and chips for lunch!  For the rest of our stay we went over to Portland - Chesil Beach and Portland Bill.  I loved walking around this area, climbing on the rocks and seeing the lighthouse but also for the nice drive - being a passenger I get to take in all the scenery.

The weather stayed pretty much perfect whilst we were there - strong sunshine, no rain but with a slight wind on the seafront.  We had a really good time and are looking forward to going back in the summer time.  Here are a few pics from our time - I wish I had taken more now. ^^

Valentines? To do or not to do? - That is the question.

So it's February already.  February 10th in fact and the last time I blogged on here was January 28th, and although I didn't give myself a set schedule to post, I realise that this is a long time.  However I have had some personal stuff going on which resulted in me rushing back to where my family lives, in which time I didn't feel up to do anything else.  Don't worry, everything is now good again and I am back home and carrying on with life.

February 10th means that in 4 days it will be February 14th, in other words Valentines day.  To be honest I am not really bothered by this as it mainly just seems like a marketing scheme that is making people part with more of their cash.  I do however like to at least do something special on this day, rather than buying "cutesy" presents, etc.  My other half is pretty much dead against it and doesn't believe there should be a special day to celebrate the love you have for each other.  Instead he likes to think he shows me everyday how much he loves and cares - and to be honest he does, and he is right.

I did plan something for us though and that is to go down to Weymouth (weather permitting - flooding is terrible still here in UK) and go to quite a fancy restaurant and stay in a traditional seaside B&B.  He is surprisingly looking forward to it but it is also a nice excuse to get away and relax for the weekend.  I will take some photographs whilst there so you can all see what we got up to.  Also please cross your fingers with me that the weather holds up!

Seriously, come on, we need a hot summer now after all this rain..

2014

So this may be a little late to talk of my resolutions but I do tend to spend a while thinking about them and what I want to achieve in the new year.

My resolutions are mainly revolved around trying to control my anxiety, stress and anger levels.  I do suffer from anxiety and panic attacks due mainly to a terrible time I had in the summer of 2012 to the summer of 2013.  I am in a much happier place now and my future is extremely bright although my stress issues are still causing me a problem.  Therefore I would like to improve on this and I have discovered some great free reads from Ibooks to download to help me.

Of course everyone wants to succeed generally in life but there are a few things that I want to focus on the most.  One would be to pass my driving test first time and to be pottering around in my own car by May.  The other would probably be to continue working hard in my career, hopefully progressing this year to a different and more advanced role.

My resolutions and things I want to succeed in are a lot different from last years and I hope this year I stick to them and achieve what I have set out to do.  I love setting goals like this for myself as it is a total self confidence boost.

What is one of your resolutions for this year or even for this month?

A Pug on a cake?

I love baking cakes and although these cupcakes were plain sponges, they looked awesome!  I realise not a lot of work went into the decoration of these - I used edible cake toppers - but as an enormous Pug lover I thoroughly enjoyed showing them off! I used love heart shaped silicone cases to emphasise this even more and kept the designs on using a sweet basic buttercream.

If you would like a recipe and better photographs then I would gladly make them again!  I will also then link to where I found my toppers.  What do you think to Honey posing in the background?

Come say hi?

Welcome to Marshmallow Tummy - I am Christy and I am a UK based blogger.

<-- So this is me.

I am 19 years old and I live with my boyfriend who is the love of my life.  I have a background of jewellery visual merchandising and am fashion retail educated.

I have decided to start this blog as a place to vent my opinions on beauty products, baking and my life.  However I don't want to give myself a set schedule of when I upload as I don't want anything to come across forced or fake to you guys.

I would love for anyone reading this to leave me a comment, drop me an email or get in touch via my social media links - which will be on the contact page.
